Threads of Sound Music Services is a very new company that started trading today, 1st July 2014, but brings together many years of work across several different companies into a more flexible focussed service.

Simbiotic Consulting has a long history of developing software and web sites for the music industry in Scotland and has years of experience in developing e-commerce sites, ticketing systems and royalty reporting software.

Isa Digital Music Distribution is a Digital Distributor based in Glasgow and manages the digital rights to the worlds largest catalogue of Scottish traditional music. It has grown organically, beginning with the Lismor Recordings catalogue and has more recently diversified into other genres of msuic, while keeping its scottish focus.

Threads of Sound Live Recordings is a record label specialising in Live Recordings. It is a not for profit company focussed on supporting new music.

Previously, as we talked to people, and worked on projects, almost everything turned out to involve at least 2 of the businesses and frequently all 3 and to our customers it was the combination of technical knowledge and music industry experience that was most valued. As a result we've brought the different services together under one integrated company.

Our commitment to investing in new music is unchanged and we've enshrined that in the setup of the new company. Threads of Sound Live Recordings is one of the largest shareholders in Threads of Sound Music Services and as a result will receive at least 1% of all revenue, plus 10% of all profits.

With the rate of change in our industry we will now be able to adapt faster than ever and we are looking forward to supporting the hundreds of artists and label we already work with and to developing new projects over the coming years.
